Camo has indicated that this thread is about Chile

Hi all,
Does anyone know about what can and cant be brought into Chile? I am staying with a family in Santiago and as a gift from Australia, plan to give them a didgeridoo. Can I legally bring timber from Australia into Chile? If so, can I take it with me same day or is it going to be quarantined for days/weeks? ANy other info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Camo.

Chile is incredibly restrictive about the import of fruits, plants and vegetables, so this might be a problem; however, no explicit statement can be found at aduana.cl

I....

I think that there are no problems to this , but if you want you can ask in www.sag.cl this site is that it regulates the entrance and exit of all type of products, plants, animals, etc...

In this Web site is a Link for foreigners whom they love to bring to Chile all type of things. I hope serves the aid to you.

Greetings from Santiago....

Zulo
