It's a delicacy in Vietnam and Cambodia-- you can get it loads of places- I can't name you one in particular. I would recommend trying it if you are adventurous- why not? you won't try it back home likely... That's one thing I love about traveling - trying new foods, new tastes- be brave.

I found it a bit chewy, but not bad....

then you can have the fried roaches and spiders for dessert.

I tried it in Taiwan, served with a large amount of mint leaves and downed with beer... The taste was nothing really special, like fish actually, although the flesh is tougher. It is quite a pricey dish but Id recommend it as a new experience, though it really doesnt taste special... :(

If you get the chance, try snake wine too. its fiery to say the least

In certain parts of the Southern US, you can find rattlesnake at times. I quite like it, so if the SEA snake is similar to what I have had in the states (no reason to believe it different) then definitely try it. I found it to be similar in texture and taste to what else, chicken. It has lots of smallish bones.

The food of Guilin in China is famous for snake soup, bamboo rat, wild cat and dog, many people say it tastes like chicken, if I ask you what is the chicken taste like. and it is hard to decrible.
You are welcome to Guilin.

If you are traveling then just try things no matter how crazy it sounds .
I was actually surprised how much i liked Dog Cat and crickets , once you get over the " oh shit am eating a dog "/snake or whatever phase it grows on you , its just meat after all .

I would call avacado icecream or an avacado milkshake, for desert adventurous.
I heard they often make avacado flavour deserts, in Asia, but I never came accross one.
No need for me to eat bugs, for a new taste experience. :)

Any recommendations considering food in Guilin/yangshuo where I can try this? I will be there somewhere in november. I liked dog (ate it in Korea), but just tried it..well to just try it actually. Won't try it again, but the others I would try. What is wild cat actually? Not tiger I hope?
