DoctorEM has indicated that this thread is about Romania

I have yet to spend any time in Europe, other than a few days in Spain a couple times with my family. Will 1000 Euros be enough for 14 days??? 7 days in London and 7 days in Romania?

hi DoctorEM,

Romania & UK ? odd Cocktail :)

1000 € is not enough at all!! Romania is still cheap and you can ccope with 300-400 for 7 days (less if you aren't planning to rent a car- the best way to discover the country in 7 days)

.... however UK is another world!! extremely expensive... specially London and southern.

for any advice about romania..,. if you are still planning... don't hesitate!!

have fun

Hello DoctorEM:)

If the 1000 does not include flight and intercity train tickets, u certainly have enough.
A backpackers budget would be 30 to 50 euros per day. This would get a bed in a hostel, food from a supermarket, city transport, a couple of coffees in a cafe, and maybe entry into a tourist attraction everyday. U have 71 Euros per day, so u can have more than the backpackers basic life.
Although, if u do it the backpacking way, the 1000 may be enough to cover your plane and train tickets, as well as the daily expenses.

hi, 1000E will not be enough for both countries if you want to have a good time (you want to visit one of the most expensine cities in the world and a whole country!).
I'm sure you know that London is very expensive (hotels, food, touristic attractions etc.).Romania on the other hand is not very expensive but it can be if you don't pay attention.Transportation here is not expensive at all so you can get around quite easily and visit a lot of interesting places.Hotels and food are also cheap but still you are on a very short budget.
I suggest you find another 500E for a nice time-it's better to have more money than to start begging.
Best wishes from Romania.

i agree with not enuff..London is very expensive. The transport just IN london is alot of money. 3 pounds for a single fare on the tube.

Id say spend less time in London (its a great city but only if you have enough money) and more in Romania - its a great country, affordable, freindly and interesting.

London

Hostel bed - 25 Euros per night
Underground train and city bus rides £3 each. - Lets say around 15 Euros per day
Food from supermarket - 10 Euros per day
All that adds up to 50 Euros. Add another 10 Euros for coffees in a cafe.
60 Euros. 10 for a tourist attraction. Now totals 70 euros per day.

DoctorEM needs 50 to 70 Euros per day for London.
He has 71 Euros per day, as his budget.
What is the big problem with London?
I am asking out of curiosity, because 40 or 50 euros per day is what I would spend, if I was in London. But I do admit, that I often dont need as much as many others would. ;)

Well, I was asking if it was enough. Never said I could not bring more ;)

Then, I suppose 2000 Euros would be better, along with my credit cards... if needed.

As far as the plane ticket, I was not including that in the price. The plane ticket is in addition to the money I am taking.

PS: My name is Enrique. Thought I would throw that in...

The more the better, Enrique.
Same applies to travelling in any country.;)

But, if u do want to save some money, buy the plane tickets as much in advance as possible. Search for the best prices, on the internet. A day sooner or later can make a difference of hundreds of Euros in the price. I traveled to Estonia last April, from Munich. I payed 250 Euros return. On all the other dates I could fly, the flights were all more than 500 Euros.

Not to worried about the plane ticket. My Dad is an airline pilot, so it wont cost me anything to fly over there. A nice perk to travel I must say!

I am not a guru with Europe, so I am looking at all the info possible. I travel to South America and Mexico alot, and know the area well. I can to most countries in South America with $1000 for 10 - 14 days and be fine. BUT... Im sure it is cheaper to drink there than it is in Europe.

Quite honestly, this trip is going to make up for all the spring breaks I missed because of school, and all the vacations I missed because I had to study or do intern work. So... I will be quite honest. This vacation will be about partying my ass off and hooking up. (Hope that doesn't offend anyone! ;) )

Anyway... those are my plans for this trip
