I am planning to go to Berlin for three days in September. What part of Berlin do you recommend me to stay ,to be able to see as many interesting places as possible. Also any suggestions about a middle class hotel will be appreciated.
Thankyou for your help.
Berlin has rather decent public transport, so you can get almost anywhere in very little time. Still, most interesting sights are probably in East Berlin. I personally stayed around the Potsdamer Platz when I went to Berlin, and found that a very usefully located central area (within very short walks of: Unter den Linden, the Reichstag, the holocaust memorial, Potsdamer Platz itself, Checkpoint Charlie and large stretches of the Wall).
I stayed at a hostel, so no idea on hotels myself, alas.

I can recommend the Heart of Gold Hostel and Hotel near Friedrichstrasse, it has a very good location for sightseeing. You cannot get it more central - most sights are within a 2 mile radius.

I've just booked in to this place for my trip to Berlin in September
It got very good reviews and seems to be in a good location.
