Hello, leaving for SA in two weeks, SO SCARED ! Just a quick one, i was looking at first aid kits the other day and i noticed you can buy some with sterile needles, would i encounter any probs at customs (anywhere in SA) if i had one? what do you think? All so any last min tips that most people wouldn't think of? Cat xx

Put your first aid kit in your checked in baggage and there's no problems what so ever (Anywhere in the world... well so far anyway!) with needles. Just as long as it's not in your carry on stuff.

As for South Africa.... just got back and it's a cool place (if a bit daunting)

Just remember to keep you valuables hidden and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Most South African's will have a "horror" story for you when you get there, but unless you're unlucky or stupid I'm sure you'll be fine... we were!

I'd highly recommend Lesotho if you get and chance and the BAz Bus was a good way around (we hired a car though)

As a footnote : Passport Photocopies are always helpful and a hidden pocket or small under clothing money pocket always are handy.

Hope this helps
