Ivy - you need a return ticket or immigration will not let you in!!!

On a similar note, does anyone know how they handle someone with a one way ticket, with a WHM visa??

I second what MikeyBoab said. Plus it will be cheaper for you to buy a return ticket with Air China in Beijing than to buy 2 one-way tickets. (Air China gives discounts to people who hold Chinese and HK passports.)

But if you do not want to listen, try your luck with www.opodo.co.uk for your one-way ticket from London to China. Alternatively treat this as an adventure and consider taking the train back to China. See www.seat61.com.

You can enter the uk on a one way ticket if you are a WHM, as my boyfriend did it. Same went for me on a WHV when i entered NZ - its normally waived on these kinds of visas.
