Except for USA and countries that love following everything that George Bush decides ie Australia and possibly the UK, I don't think anywhere you travel in the world that this will be of a concern as long as it is for tourism purposes and not to work. I know that some countries like New Zealand and Australia do share police record information with each other, but as far as I know it doesn't happen in most countries so I doubt Germany would be one of those that does. Even if it did, it wouldn't have an agreement with a place as far away as Canada unless it was a very serious offence ie terrorism that could be of a concern to the country. In that case you'd probably have spent many years in jail so it couldn't have been that much of an offence.

If you've never done time, are not on probation or parole and intend to come as tourist, Germany will not give a rat's arse about your criminal record. Guaranteed. You can trust me on this as I'm German and did a stint in the immigration office.
