STA quote for RtW ticket - good price?

Travel Forums Round the World Travel STA quote for RtW ticket - good price?

Hi Guys,

I got a quote for the following today leaving on 2 JAN 08 (I know this is an expensive time to go but don't want to be sitting about after New Year for 2 weeks until it gets cheaper):

London - Bangkok - Overland - Singapore - Sydney - Christchurch - Overland - Auckland - LA - Overland - NYC - London

The price was from STA and it works out about £1480. If I went after 16 Jan it would be about £250 cheaper.

The only flight which will fall in the xmas period is the first leg - i expected it to maybe be £100 dearer but not £250!

Could anybody recommend any other agent to book a RtW ticket through? I was thinking Trailfinders maybe?

I want to book ASAP, but ideally I would like a check price first.

Many thanks in advance for you replies.

Leigh

Hi Leigh,

I am doing a similar route to you, but I'm stopping at India before Bangkok and then Fiji and the Cooks after NZ and am setting off in September. My ticket was £400 cheaper than the price you've been quoted and I got it from Global Village. I would def recommend Global Village, they've been really helpful up to and after booking my tickets.

Hi Louise,

I've just had a look at the global village website and their quote is £400 pound cheaper than sta travel, thanks for providing the information

Leigh,
I would try trailfinders anyway as they always seem to get the cheapest price for me - I have booked through them for my last few trips.

Also worth contacting are TravelNation a company in Brighton. They are very helpful. They would always reply to my emails within 30 mins.
They also specialise in trips that companies like STA and Trailfinders cant deal with. For instance with my flights from Central to South America TravelNation got me direct flights whereas everyone else had me flying all over the place.

My consultant was called Jonny Goodall and i would recommend him to anyone.

Clare,

The website for Global Village is www.globalvillage-travel.com

I always dealt with Lionel in their office and he was great; really friendly and helpful.
