So what's the real deal with this fruit picking lark?
I've heard it's a hard job but with certain benefits such as being with a big group of travellers for a couple of months/accomodation/and of course the chance to extend your WHV for another year!
I'm undecided as to whether to give it a go... Anyone got any good stories about it or anything?
I'd say give it a go! Its not the best pay-wise, but fruit picking is usually social work, out in the sun (hopefully lol), and you'll definitely meet some great people while doing it I personally really enjoy vineyard work, which has more varied tasks than day-in, day-out picking fruit. But whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have fun. Oh, if you're not a fan of spiders though then I'd advise you stay away from bananas!!
Do the farms ask for proof of working Visa?
what provides better money than fruit picking but isn't too hard to get a job in?
I didnt enjoy it that much in victoria when i did it (potatoes) but my cousin was picking strawberries for 2 months just north of brisbane and she loved it.
