Hi there,

just wondering where the best place to do the dolphin swimming in New Zealand would be?

I was thinking of doing it in Kaikoura but they also do it in Auckland.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

The bay of Islands north of Auckland is the best place, they get loads loads of dolphins here and the place itsef is stunning.

I went on a dolphin tour there (there are loads to choose from) and we came across a pod of wild dolphins and they gave me a wetsuit and a snorkle and i jumped in and swam with them. It was incredable. So if u wanna swim with them make sure u go on the right tour, some just might be viewing only.

it really depends on what time of year it is there. if its winter go to the bay of islands, if its summer go to kaikoura. because in kaikoura if the dolphin trip is busy you can always swim with the seal.
i swam with them in the bay of islands and you get 2 out of 3 chances to swim with the dolphins. it was good. well worth it.
