Just asking out of interest. What do u think the Canadian government should do, for your family and girlfriend? I tend to agree, that our rich countries should do as much as we can, for people comming from countries like PR China.

My girlfriend is West German. She made more money in Germany than in Canada. She went into the immigration office and asks to become a permanent resident. They ask her if she's seeking asylum or is she a refugee!!

Than why do u think Canada should help her more?
Sounds to me like she is well equiped to help herself.;)

I highly recommend applying for a managerial postion to gain some first hand knowledge about managing others. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts when you decide to buck company policy because it doesn't coincide with your own personal agenda concerning fairness in the workplace.

Just in the interest of comparing myself to a manager, to assess if I have what it takes, would u answer the following.
Did u manage, in the way that u moderate?

Some employers actively seek out those over 50+ because of their experience and life knowledge and have made it part of their corporate culture.

As the saying goes "With age comes wisdom". Not all jobs require strong backs and quick hands. In my field, some older workers become technical experts, and are kept on by the company to mentor and train younger people (however, they're not managers and have no say over financial or HR matters). This is done to pass on experience and skills from one generation to the next.

yeah, I know.
I was just making fun of Beerman, because he is so grumpy.
My father in law is one of those wise engineers who go into his former company twice pre week, to pass on his wisdom. Of course wisdom comes with age. :)

Citizenship, with all its benefits, is like wages, and is earned. Do you think the people who worked less than you do, that have less skill than you do deserve your wage ? Why should someone "well equiped to help herself" for citizenship need to wait while someone goes to look up how to process a non-asylum or refugee status seeker ?

You earn your way through life by hard work and integrity. That's something you need to learn.

Anyway Isadora, that manager who did my review did not know that I knew what the other employees earned, so she gave me the raise, becasue I asked for a more competitive rate of pay, in comparison with what other companies were paying and she agreed. I did not tell her anything about the chat I had with the others who were on the late shift, with me that night.

Are u saying, that I dont work hard, and I dont have integrity?
Who bought my appartment?
Who looks after my daughter?
Who does my house chores?
Who studied for my secretarial certificates, my City and Guilds in Information technology, my National Diploma in Information Technology, my accrediated operating systems technicion certificate, my novel netware administration certificate qualifications etc.
Who puts the German language in my head?
Who saves up money to give to me, so I can travel regularly?
Who forged my excellent work references, if I did not earn them, with my work?

Q, stop talking like an arse.:(

I don't know you or what you've done in real life. But if you want people to take you seriously, you have to speak logically and precisely. As beerman correctly stated. Respect is earned. People who make the effort to check facts, to write grammatically correct sentences, to put forth their arguments logically and precisely, they've put effort and hard work into their posts. The "wage" we pay to these people is respect. Fair wage, for fair work. Whatever form its in. That's what it's all about.
