Again Ishipatel - which part of Asia are you thinking? 2 months is enough for 1-3 countries, depending on their size. You might be able to sneek 4 in there by doing the Thailand/Indochina loop. Here's some very general time lines that I've found are good for a first time trip attempting to see most of the major highlights. Of course in any of these countries you could spend much longer or shorter, depending on how indepth you want to get to know these countries, or whether you just want to be able to say "been there, done that".

China - 2-3 months to see most of the country, but 1 month to concentrate on just a single region (ex: Southwest, East coast, Tibet etc...)
Vietnam - 3-4 weeks. or 2 weeks for either the North or South
Cambodia - 2 weeks, but in 7-10 days you can see the major highlights
Laos - 2 weeks, or just 7-10 days for the Northern highlights.
Thailand - 3-4 weeks depending on how much beach time you need
Malaysia - 2 weeks, or more if you plan to head to Borneo
Singapore - 3 days
Indonesia - Never been yet, but I would say at least a month, two if you plan to go right from Sumatra to Bali
India - 1 month for a single region, or 6 months or more to get a good overview of the whole country.

Hello Ishhipatel:)

In my opinion, there is no such thing as enough or too much time, to travel around Asia, or anywhere else.
The longer u stay, the more u will experience and see. But even a short time there is worthwhile. Well, for me it is anyway.

I done Thailand , Cambodia , Vietnam in 2 months and was not really rushing . But like Mel said the more you want to see the longer you will have to stay .

It probably isn't enough time you'll need to state where you want to go to get good accurate answers.

If you are only going to concentrate on South East Asia ie Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam etc well then you could probably squeeze it in only 2 months but you'd still miss quite a lot. You could easily spend 1 month in Vietnam and not see the whole country properly if you want to see both the North and South in depth and in terms of Asia Vietnam is a very small area to cover. If you are including China and the Asian part of Russia in your two months well forget about covering Asia in 2 months more like 2 years and you may be getting close. With a country the size of China you'd not cover all of China properly in 6 months if you wanted to see it in depth let alone 2 months for all of Asia the same applies for India. In a country as small as Japan it is a big rush in 4 weeks with barely enough time to stop and enjoy anything (and they have some of the fastest trains in the world and possibly the best transport network).

If you look at a world map and compare the size of Japan to the remainder of Asia you can see just how unrealistic it'd be to expect to see all of Asia in 2 months when 4 weeks would be a big rush to see most stuff.

If you are considering Indonesia you will need lots of time. I spent 5.5 months there last year and that was my 7th visit. Spent 35 days in Java, 3.5 months in Sumatra- west and north and 18 days in Aceh and 5 days in Kuta Lombok and 6 days in Tana Toraja Sulawesi and a few days here and there in Bali.
Awesome country.

If you have only 2 months, you can try as under :

India : 25 days.
Bangladesh : 9 days.
Nepal : 5 dys.
Bhutan : 3 days.
China : 10 days.
Vietnam : 5 days.
Laos : 3 days.

I think 3 days is not enought for Laos.
At least make it one week to explore the country
