3 days for singapore is enough!!
try Orchard Rd, Merlion Park, Chinatown, Little India, Bugis Street, Lau Pa Sat, Sentosa Island???, Clarke Quay, Esplanade, Suntec City.

Lau Pa Sat is a place where you got to go. Nice food and cheap stuffs. As well as Bugis Street. Things there are extremely cheap and you can bargain for much cheaper price.
Enjoy Singaporean Nightlife in Clarke Quay and take a boat Ride along the river to see Singapore City. Its nice.
Enjoy your trip.;)

Annemarie,
I enjoyed Jurong Bird Park both times I went. Very well done. I would pass on the Singapore Zoo. It is a good one, but seeing animals in small enclosures was not a fun experience for me. Sentosa is worth one of your days. Plenty to do plus swimming and beach. The cable car ride back at night is memorable. I would do that again as well. Have a great time in Singapore.

the botanic gardens are lovely and make a nice change from the city. Arab Street is another interesting district worth visiting.
you can get around cheaply and easily using the MRT (underground system).

The Night Safari is lovely too. you might want to check it out. Buses go there from Ang Mo Kio interchange (bus no 138), and Choa Chu Kang interchange (no. 927). Or alternatively, just hail a cab. The zoo and bird park are worth a visit too, but what stood ouy the most to me was still the night safari. - And yes, its quite a different nightlife from the Clarke Quay one....

People said that if you've not seen the merlion, you've not actually been to Singapore

There's one in Sentosa island and the other one at Raffles place.
