I'm new at this forum. And my english is poor, so forgive me. Couples (I am about 50 , my lovley wife is younger - of course) want to go to France: 1 week in Paris and 2 wek in Provence. Just starting our plans. Where to stay (budget is important issue) Will you be so kinde to help us, thank you! Roman.

Hi Roman - re Provence, I spent a few days in Avignon and it was definitely worth it. I'm told that Aix-en-Provence and Orange are good places to see as well. Some of the best bits of Provence are just driving round discovering the countryside and villages, too.

yeah aix is a definate.
Also theres a place called Arles where a few movies have been filmed around the ancient bull ring.
If your driving from aix to Arles your going to find a few small towns along the way which are well worth checking out.
I found Provence to be a lot more laid back than the rest of France and stayed there for a couple of months.
