Hey Everyone,

I will be doing Thailand from Aug. 20 to Sep. 7th. Has anyone been there this time of year?

I know it's technically the rainy season, but I'm not sure what that means in reality.

Are people still chillin' on the beaches during that time? What is the weather really like?

Places I'm going: Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chang Mai, Ko Samui

Hi Evan,
I've been to Bangkok and Phuket in September. It will still be hot and humid, and you'll still be able to chill on the beach.
But, every now and then (usually each day) it will rain hard for about an hour, so you'll have to take shelter.
If you can take this in your stride, you'll be fine. If it puts you off, don't go.
Also, some regions will be hit harder than others, and this may change your plans.
Ayuttaya near Bangkok was washed out, so we couldn't go. As was Chiang Mai, so we went to Phuket instead.
In summary, it just means that you will have to be flexible and go with the flow a bit more.:)

Chiangmai would be fine. The rain is getting better now. Only average a short one in a day. You can enjoy the rest of the day. NOt so humid as other Island area. One of my friend even went rafting last week. (He is so brave.)
