Dear all.

I am an English teacher from the UK living and working in China.
My parents are sending me some clothes (old not new) from the UK to me here. Does anyone know if I will have to pay import duty on this when I receive them? And if so how much?

I don't beleive I will as these are personal effects but I am unsure.

I have tried to "Google it" but with no avail.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I think you´ll not have problems with that products by I recomend ask to the postal or cargo company. Perhaps you need some documents but the cargo company will provide to you.

hi, I works in italian customs, taxes are based on the insured value of your parcel. ask your parents to declare a really low value so you will avoid to pay any taxes. (taxes are usually 30% of the insured value)
Here in Europe if it is specified that package contains personal belonging only you don't have to pay but in china sorry i don't know.. i think declare a low value is the best solution. Elena
