Rumours says Malaysia rank the second most expensive priced alco after Norway..Is this true???
If it is , i am very dissapointed
I need to know...How you did paid for your drink?
Average price in Kuala Lumpur would be :-

In a pub ( non happy hour )

Pint of lager ( Carslberg )- USD 7
Pint of Stout (Guinness) - USD 8.5
Bottle of Whiskey ( black label) - USD 90

Clubs would be more expensive of course.....

Well, seeing as I live in Norway, you'd be surprised if we weren't more expensive, wouldn't you?! :)

Let's see:
Supermarket pint (half litre) would be 20 NOK, currently around 3.5 USD
Bar pint would be around 50 NOK, although I have found a few places that are 40. Then again, there's more places that charge 60 than there are places that charge 40 :( Taking 50 as an average, that's about 8.5 USD. If you go bottled instead of tap it's about the same, but the size is usually 0.33. Pint of guinness would mean you're in an Irish bar, not really the cheapest places to drink in Oslo. Would probably set you back about 10 USD.

Wine and stronger alcohol can only be purchased in state owned 'vinmonopolet' (wine monopolies). Cheapest bottle of wine there would be about 80 NOK or 13USD.

The largest part of the price of alcohol in Norway is assorted taxes etc. Needless to say the government does quite well off of this set up because Norwegians still tend to drink pretty heavily. As opposed to Malaysia, Norway is apparently the richest country in the world though so cost of alcohol based on salary and other things is probably not excessive

We are surrounded by brewing grains... cheaper to make it here. Thus lower shipping costs and lower taxes here in the northern United States. Small town USA is a great place to drink... maybe thats why no one leaves. Hadnt thought of that way before but I suppose other than fear of the outside this may be true.

Cheers!

Average beer price is about 2 euro for a glass of 0,25 liter.
On the other hand, in the supermarket you can get 24 bottles for 6 or 7 euros if you are lucky.

Which reminds me...it's beertime with GregW tonight....going home now...bye
