Hi All,

I'm setting off on my RTW in October and i'll be taking my DSLR.

I have been thinking, I should take a compact Digi i.e. Canon PowerShot A570 IS

http://www.trustedreviews.com/digital-cameras/review/2007/06/13/Canon-PowerShot-A570-IS/p6

The reason being is i'm not always gunna wanna have my whopping DSLR all the time i.e. when I go out at night, and when hit the beach etc.

Is this a good idea? Anyone got any experience?

Thanks in advance!!

Matt

hi Matt,
cant hurt to take a back up with you.
small digi cam is good for the beach or disco or other crouded places, better to hide and in case of loss(hopefully not) not sooo expensiv to replace.
enjoy your trip

I agree with Marlis. I like having a pocket sized camera that I can take with me to places I don't really want to be carrying my DSLR around. Be aware of where you are though and what the crime rate is like. It would sure be a bummer to come back to your hotel room and find it had been burglarized.

I just bought a little digital as I didnĀ“t feel comfortable taking my slr out in crowded streets in south america, yet wanted pics of them. I love it, 2 seconds pics done and its back in my pocket!
