I'm also off to OZ at the end of Jan for a year on a working holiday visa. After Oz it's off to NZ for another year hopefully.
Starting off in Sydney and then working my way around.
Any suggestions on where to stay, work, live would be much appreciated.
It would be good to here from anybody with similar plans.
Just caught the end of this thread and noticed the majority of you are all from the U.K and are leaving soon.
Perfect timing!!!! You should all arrive near the beginning of Summer - and close to the peak of most of the Australian Spring Racing carnival (horse-racing). This is one of the biggest few weeks of the year and you can do no wrong by putting on your Sunday best and having a few beers or glasses of champagne at any of the local race tracks.
Also if you're looking for decent priced flights specifically departing london check out http://www.urippa.co.uk
Enjoy - and if you want anymore info don't feel free to PM me.
It seems quite a few people have got the right idea, especially those from the UK. I too am leaving for warmer climes,Sydney to start with then maybe Melbourne, definitely New Zealand and would like to see the Far East.
I am going with two friends but I think we all have slightly different ideas about what we want to do. I would like to keep my options as wide and as open as possible, so would like to hear from anyone who will be in the Sydney area from early December onwards.
Drop us a message.
