I'm arriving solo in Sydney on 7th of Jan - and have booked my hotel for the first two nights in Kings Kross... Having been warned several times about this being a really seedy red light district, I'd love to have plans to meet up with someone for support & comfort on the other side of the world!
I'm also off to Oz at the same time. I head off to Sydney on 27th Dec to see the New Year in with some friends who are already out there travelling. I'm going to spend 3 weeks in Sydney and then head off to see the rest of Oz. I'm then planning a trip to New Zealand before either going home or popping over to Fiji and then heading home.
I was thinking of a bus tour. My friends wont be joining me so I was trying to find a way of seeing the country whilst meeting new people, on a budget.
I've noted the comments made about the Oz experience but does anyone know anything about the connections tours. Website: www.connections1835.com.au. I have been recommended this as all accomodation and a lot of meals are included. However I think there is little chance of being able to get off and stay places at my leisure. I believe you have to follow their itinery.
Does anyone have any tips? The greyhound does sound good, but i dont fancy the idea of being by myself stranded in a bus station wondering where i will stay that night.
Please feel free to email me.
So for the long thread!
