Making friends in OZ

I'm shy most of the time so really want to know how easy it is to make friends over there. I want to go as soon as Ive saved up around £2500 so maybe around October and see how it goes when im there. Definitly would stay there 2 months :)

hi Phil,

Australia is probably one of the easiest countries to make friends as there's heaps of other backpackers around who are travelling solo and pretty much in the same position than you. You'll meet people in hostels, on buses or other modes of transport and if you get out of that comfort zone you'll guaranteed to make friends from all over the world. Sure it is harder to become friends with Aussies when you are just travelling through but sometimes it is also possible. Two months is also definitely a good amount of time to stay.
Don't you worry, you'll be fine and have a fantastic time;)!

No problem to make friends in Aus even if you are shy...
As for me, i never have a problem to make friends with Australians...
They are just so friendly...

That's great Hopefully I will make friends that I can keep for life and also even english friends for when I come home, It's funny because you can travel 10,000 miles to get a friend who lives around the corner who would otherwise be a stranger on a bus. Because unless you have a job or are at college in England then it is hard to make friends I think, especially since I have no friends to go to clubs with. I have a few friends but they have partners so it is difficult to just hang around as their partners would think somethings going on

Ahh that is good I got some culteral awareness from OZ Big Brother this year well the last 3 days of it and they seem friendly. I don't have as big a muscles as them men but that's ok I think

Hey Phil ",)
Im heading to Oz in Oct on my own as well. Starting off in Cairns on the 5th of Oct..planning to spend 3 months in Oz and then travel on to New Zealand the 3rd of Jan for 4 weeks. Where are u starting off your trip? Im kind of nervous and anxious about doing dis trip on my own so if u wanna meet up sum where along the way, we cud hve a laugh maybe ",)
