In my humble opinion, a camera imakes a small part of art of PHOTOGRAPHY.
I've heard that before. But, in my opinion, a poor camera in a good artists hands still limits their creativity. I think it was Ansel Adams who wrote that a good camera is one which doesn't restrict the artist or forces concessions on him/her. Good photographers know what they can use and can't.
Of course you are right.
A good camera can do more, BUT a good and knowledgable photographer could do his/her best of ability to produce the best image while a person behind a hi-tech camera might know what is going on !
I shoot with a 30D and i used a 40D last weekdn borrowed form a friend and it really doesn't feel as solidly built as the 30D
So it took a while, but dpreview just posted their review of the D300.
I only just now started reading through it so my comments on it (if any) are still to follow, but I skipped ahead to the conclusion, and saw that they managed to dreg up a whole three (!) con points, versus a mere 30 pro points. (For those who don't know dpreview; usually it's roughly 10 of each.)
