Quick question: Is there a website where you can book the night bus and boat from Bangkok to Samui? I have done it before in Bangkok and they appeared to have many free spaces, but I am pushed for time this trip and was wondering if you could book in advance?
Need the Samsong and a hot beach urgently!
I checked and could not find a way to book a bus seat in advance. You have been there before and know that is not the way the Thai system works. Even with a booked seat, the Thais would sell your seat to a person standing in front of them. Greed would trump a reservation. There is almost no chance that every seat on the private buses leaving from Khao San Road and the gov't buses leaving from Southern Bus Station will be full. If you get there a few hours before the buses leave, you will find a seat.
You can book a train seat if that option works for you.
you could book a ticket with Charlie's http://www.travelconnecxion.com/
For an additional fee they will send the ticket to an overseas address.
Anyhow I agree with vegasmike6 that's still no guaranty you'll get a seat on the bus as busses are sometimes simply overbooked - which happens to German Railways also frequently enough as I might add
I think you can just buy the VIP bus ticket from Khao San Rd or V. Tour Group which is situated opposite Thailand National Bank at See Yak Bangkhunphom Road. Just buy it there and you going to be transit at Suratthani before heading to Koh Samui. It is much more convinient.
hi there i did buy a train/ boat combo ticket in advance before of the net for the same route, although i do think its better to do the train more comfy however everytime you buy a combo train, bus boat ticket in thailand you will always with out fail miss the conection at the other end and need to buy a new boat ticket so only buy tickets one at a time. you will always get a ticket for the boat when you get there.
As far as I know, there is no website.
But u can buy the ticket a few days in advance at the bus station, to ensure u get a place.
In case u are considering buying a bus and boat combo, from a travel agent, I dont recommend it.
The national bus company is much more reliable and there are fewer robberies. They have a symbol of 2 bird wings, as u probably noticed already, so u will see which is their ticket office at the bus station.
Get the bus to Surat Thani, and then buy a boat ticket from the agent there. The boat will include transport to the pier.
I have been to phuket from bangkok..i too tried to book tickets beinh away from thailand,,but no luck..
i booked it thru ww.richlybangkok.com
