Does not matter when I first read about Fiji (Octopus), Hawaii (Maui), and Tahiti (Bora Bora). These islands are the favorites from travel reviews. Quite amazing!

I am right in between two trips taking in some islands in the Caribbean and the Pacific.

I am off to Tahiti, Moorea, Mangareva and the Pitcairn Islands in March. The latter is not your perfect island getaway though.

In the Caribbean I can recommend Antigua for the beaches, but certainly Montserrat, Saba and Dominica are perfect for me. They might not have the perfect beaches, but they are quiet and beautiful!

If you're looking for the nicest beaches, I recommend Costa Rica, on the Pacific side. It has some of the most beautiful soft shell beaches in the world, yet untrammeled by tourist hordes. Gorgeous! Unless it's changed in the last 10 years...

If I see that list, I can't help to think that they really didn't bother to go beyond the beaten track. But hey, that's tripadvisor!
Those list is probably based on 'recommendations', mostly on quantity instead of quality.
