Ok can someone help me - l friend sent me an email with a word doc attached which he had copied a photo on to. Is there ANYWAY l can take this photo from the word doc and convert it into a Jpeg or similar that would allow it to be upload.
No lm not stealing photos but its a photo of me & my best friend which is actually really nice (and l dont often come across nice photos of me!) and l would like to upload it!
I have asked him to send it through again but not attached as a word doc! Dont know why he did it in the first place!
Please dont talk in too technical jargon if it is possible cos l wont understand!
Right-click on the photo/picture, select Copy.
Run Paint (under Start > All Programs > Accessories)
Under the Edit menu, select Paste.
Now, save the picture. The file type in the Save As box should be JPEG.
Heather, the above may have some problem with colour loss when it's pasted onto paint.
Try this instead. It's faster.
Don't maximise the Word application. leave some space showing the desktop.
Select the photo in the document (you should see a border around the photo indicating that it's been selected).
Drag the photo and drop it on the desktop.
You'll see an Active Desktop popup box saying "In order to add this item to your Active Desktop, you need to save a copy of the picture. Do you want to continue?" Select yes.
A Save As box will appear. Choose where you want it saved and type a filename. Remember to end it with .jpg
Another popup box will appear, asking if you want to add the item to your desktop. Select no.
Tried both ways Hien
Paint - like you said colour distortation (so l saved in black n white) which disguises it some what
Dragging it across - the quality of the photo is then poor!
ANYWAY - lve been able to upload the black n white one. Its in my photos!
If hed only just send me the original JPG it would have been much easier!
Thanks Hien - you are still a genius!
Hmm... drag-and-drop on the desktop turns out ok for me though.
Anyway, do you have any other image editing software? If you have, follow the steps on paint and paste it on the image editing software instead. That should do it.
