In October I'm going to Peru for one month, I'll see M.Pichu, the Sacred Valley, Colca Canion etc... but I'd like to explore some places which are not so much popular among western tourists, villages rather than big cities or natural sights that impressed you much and are not completely commercialized. If you could advice me a nice trekking trail (4-5 days long) in the mountains I'd be grateful.
have a look at this www.go2peru.com
this site should give you some first infos about the different regiones in Peru.
Maybe the aerea Huaraz could be something for you.
Not sure if your trekking trail question is referring to getting to Machu Picchu or not, but if it is then I did the Salcantay trek 6 weeks ago, and would highly recommend doing this one if so, fantastic views and if you enjoy hiking a good work out too. Also like to that SAS travel were a very good company to go with looked after their porters and we had a fantastic time.
