dr.pepper has indicated that this thread is about Malaysia

Hello all,

The Malaysia destination guide is coming along really well, thanks in large part to some excellent work by Hien. It's pretty close to being featurable, so I thought I'd put a quick post up to let everyone know what still needs to be done. Remember that if you're not a full member (or above), you won't be able to edit the article any more once it's featured --- so now's your time ;)

  • Eat & Sleep - these are totally blank at the moment
  • Cities, Sights&Activities, and Events&Festivals - basically, these areas just need to move beyond the list format. Little blurbs on the major cities, sights, etc. would add a lot of content. Take a look at the Canada or Netherlands articles for examples.
  • Sub-articles - depth. There are a handful of sub-articles (ie. Kuala Lumpur, Perhentian Islands, etc.), but it would be useful to have at least 10 or so reasonably developed articles about Malaysian cities, provinces, sights, islands, etc.

Cheers,
Eric

I spent 2 days in Kota Bhuru, 5 days in Perhentian Besar Island and Perhentian Kecil Island, 4 days in Palua Pinang and over 1 weeks in Kuala Lumpur so if I can be of any assistance gimme a shout.

i was there for two and a half months three years ago. Did Malaysia and Borneo - I also kept a diary so will be able to help out on the accommodation etc. Where do I send the info? I will have a lok at the rest of the site to get an idea of the format.

Quoting Eefs

Where do I send the info?

Nowhere. :) The travel guide is a wiki, which means you can directly edit it yourself (until it gets featured, at which time you need to be a "full member" on this site in order to be able to edit). The Malaysia article in particular can be found here. There, just click on the "Edit" link in the top right corner to edit the entire page, or on the little "[edit]" links to the right of each sub-heading, which allows you to edit just that particular section.

(Also: huh, I see I appear to be a Moderator for the guide. Is that something all travel gurus/respected members are, or was this responsibility bestowed upon me in particular (without anyone actually telling me about it)?) :)

All moderators & gurus are also moderators in the guide. There's a few extra benefits that come along with that of course:) Namely being able to rename articles & delete them.

Hi,

For Borneo, you can try this, http://www.sabahnaturally.blogspot.com/

if you need the photos for your projects, just let me know. That is not my blog, but I supply some photos for the blogger for free.

I also have some nice photos of beautiful Pulau Rawa, south Malaysia. feel free to ask for free photos from me if you need it.
