Well hello all you fellow TPers.

Mel has suggested to me that Tway is worthy of her own cheerleading squad and you know I fully agreed with her.

Now, I'm not much of a dancer myself. I've never done a human pyramid before and I just dont have the legs for one of those short little skirts. BUT I'm sure there are many of you out there who would jump at the chance!

So SIGN UP NOW!! Places are limited of course and there will be a rigourous interview process.

Everyone is welcome to try out - boys too. Tway's Cheerleading Squad is an equal opportunities body. Dont be shy!

Your first test will be to make up your own <what do they call those chant things that they do?>

Oh yeah, and there'll be a prize for the best cheerleader.

It wont be long before all the grammar Nazis come along, to cheer her on.

Everybody SING!!!Thanks to the Village People

Young girl, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young girl, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young girl, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young girl, there's a place you can go.
I said, young girl, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay with the T-W-A-Y.
It's fun to stay with the T-W-A-Y.

She has everything that you need to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys ...

It's fun to stay with the T-W-A-Y.
It's fun to stay with the T-W-A-Y.

You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...

Young girl, are you listening to me?
I said, young girl, what do you want to be?
I said, young girl you can make real your dreams.
But you've got to know this one thing!

No girl does it all by herself.
I said, young girl, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the T-W-A-Y.
I'm sure she can help you today.

Young girl, I was once in your shoes.
I said, I was down and out with the blues.
I felt no man cared if I were alive.
I felt the whole world was so jive ...

That's when someone came up to me,
And said, young girl, take a walk up the street.
It's a place there called the T-W-A-Y.
She can start you back on your way.

Young girl, there's no need to feel down
Young girl, pick yourself off the ground

It's fun to stay with the T-W-A-Y.
It's fun to stay with the T-W-A-Y.
Young girl, are you listening to me?
Young girl, what do you wanna be?

T-W-A-Y
you'll find it at the T-W-A-Y
no woman, does it all by herself
young girl, put your pride on the shelf

T-W-A-Y
then just go see the T-W-A-Y
T-W-A-Y
young girl, I was once in your shoes
T-W-A-Y
young girl, I said, I was down and out with the blues.
T-W-A-Y

Whew...I'm a little out of shape....How was that? Can I be on the team?

Wow!! I don't think I can do better than Beerman on this one. (Plus, he refuses to take off the pleated skirt and tight cardigan.)
But, every good cheerleading team needs to have a coach (who hands out the martinis and chocolate after practice) and I think I have the right qualifications for the job. I'm old, I bake pies, make chocolate truffles and concoct very tasty martinis. Besides, T likes me. I also promise to leave the cats at home and not serve cat-ala-king for dinner, though a nice lasagna with homemade garlic bread may be in order once we've won the championships. I also have a surplus of hair ties and bobbypins. If needed, I know where to get glitter. I also know how to mend a hem with packing tape and reweave an unraveling cardigan with a paperclip. Oh, and I have a corkscrew and bottle opener within easy reach at all times. Last, but hardly least - Grammar Nazi at your service!! ;)

I look forward to the next part of the interview process.

So who's making the pom poms? LOL.

8. Posted by Purdy (Travel Guru 3546 posts) 9y

I have a couple of assets that l think could help me swing a spot on the cheer leading team!! They will look great in a tight sweater!!!!!! But as for the pleated skirts - my legs dont often get out into the fresh air!

Go Tina, Go Tway, Go Tina, Go Tway!

- Purdy vigorously shakes her pom poms!!

So do l get a spot on the squad!

I just finished decanting three really good liqueurs (black plum, prickly pear and persimmon) which have been steeping in the window since October. They will make great spritzers. Please add liqueur-maker that to my resume. (Us old people like doing things like that.) Thank you.
