I stayed in Mary's Hotel last year for 2 nights - it was really clean and friendly and in a really good location. I paid around 60 euros a night.
It's at 15, Rue de Malte, Paris.

Hi, i am currently in Paris staying at Terminus Nation, 96 Cours De Vincennes Paris, the Metro is right at the door and the rooms are older but mine is very clean and the staff are friendly. Paying 49 euros a night but if you do a search on booking dot com they have the rooms a little cheaper now...

Otherwise try the Ibis chains from the accor group they have hundreds of hotels in Paris, wish i had searched them earlier as thier prices are more than reasonable and you get a lot more.

Hope that helps.

you can also try the etap hotel chain, there are several of them in paris and are cheaper than ibis.

I've stayed twice at Home Moderne, in the 15th. It's clean and affordable at 43 Euro a night, altough nothing fancy. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Metro, but it's a beautiful stroll so I always loved it. If you're 2 people, it's a more economical option than most Paris hostels.
