Hi,

I am trying to get quotes for travel insurance. I will be going to Bali, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for about 11 months in total. However, I am getting very confused!!! Prices seem to vary so much. So far the most expensive I have is £433 and the cheapest is around £100 but I'm confused as to what they cover exactly and legal jargon is making my head spin!!! Can anyone recommend any travel insurance companies that they have dealt with in the past? I will probably want all the hazardous sports included because I have absolutely no idea what I'll be doing when I get out there and chances are I will be doing some adventurous things! Is it just easier to call these companies up and ask them for a quote over the phone as there seems to be lots of hidden add-ons.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

hi,

I'm off on a 7 month trip soon which includes asia, oz and the US which bumps it up a bit. I went with staysure in the end as they did all the cover plus really good baggage cover if you add the extra option and covers all extreeme sports. for a very good price. they also included exra cover for my DSLR camera and came to similar price to all others with all the extras.

Thanks for that. However, I went onto the staysure website to get a quote and it told me that it could not quote for trips more that 100 days. How did you get round that?

Thanks in advance!

World Nomads are worth a look as well. They are an online company and specialise in backpacker travel - you can add things like ipods etc individually, plus extreme sports and the like, and as well as them offering longer policies, you can extend it online as often as you want

Ive used worldnomads as well and they seem to be pretty good, checkout their website worldnomads.com
You might find the cheaper quotes are not for constant travel and only insure you on a multi-trip basis, overwise why would there be such a huge price difference. Dont forget, you get what you pay for. That little bit extra might just make your trip!
