sdaltrey has indicated that this thread is about Venezuela

Hi,

I would like to know the score about visiting the Angel Falls in Venezuela. I´ve heard that it´s a wacking $300 to visit the place. Is this just the entrance fee to the national park or for a full guided tour? Can it be done any cheaper. I would like to the falls but I think $300 is a bit steep just to see some water falling off a rock.

cheers,

Steve

The tour in Canaima is not expensive like you write, i did an excursion with a tour operator directly reserving by internet and i paid $275 by person.. i think is bernal tours, they have an office at the airport of ciudad bolivar. They offer you transfers, flights, excursions, friendly people. maybe if you call them to the phone (+58 414 8997162).

Good look and have a nice vacations.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies and Jens for your "jungle, water, indians, animals and so much more" as it now seems a more interesting trip to do.

Is the only way there by plane from Ciudad Bolivar? Looking at a map there seems to be road to Taraipa from Ciudad Bolivar via La Paragua. It looks like this is close to Canaima. So is it posible by road or even by boat to arrive in Canaima and then do a trip to Angel Falls? Whats the score on booking your trip from there?

cheers,

Steve

Hey! No, you can also get there by car... but, isnt my recommendation because for that you must have the right equippment, 4x4, and all that stuffs... you can get there by LTA Airlines, the most common airline to go to Canaima.

You can check this page... there are a lot of information about canaima, travel agencys, airlines, guide tours, etc... http://www.lagransabana.com/operador.htm

i hope that can help you... take care!

Hi again.

Not recomendable La Paragua is lose time doing nothing, the difference is that is close to canaima like 20 min and ciudad bolivar is to 1hour..... is the common way more than other cities... i Recomend you contact with the tour operator and not with a travel agency or an airline, they can offer you the tour with all included with best prices.
i get the email : bernaltours a terra.com.ve

Good look ;)
