Hello everyone,
I'm in Yangshuo at the moment and I am heading to Laos next overland hopefully.

Just two questions - 1) Has anyone every done this, does anyone actually know if i can cross from China?
2) If so, is it possible to obtain my laos visa at the border? Does it cost much do you know?

Would be awesome if somebody had any info

Cheers
Tom

Hi Tom,

http://www.tourismlaos.gov.la/entering-laos.htm says 'possible', but only at Boten and doesn't give visa fees ;)

Hi there Tom,
I did that border crossing, at Boten actually, last febrery. Did have no visa and made it at the border in about one hour everything straitforward with the exception that since I have understood and everybody had told me the official visa fee was usd 30 whle I was charged 35 and the guy at the window (who perfectly understood english) wasn´t at all willing to answer me when I asked him if there was any recent change in the fee regulations... he just repeated "35, 35, visa 35"... and you know, you only can loose plaing with border officials...

Hope that helps, by the way, I carry an spanish passport

Luis

Hi luis,

From which country are you from?
The price for visa is different from country to country.
If i am not mistake, canadian pay the most expensive one.
It is kind of assistant agree by the government of the two countries.
