i was in the Perhentians in 2004 and booze was widely found...you just have to order 'off the menu' and pay when they bring it to you. We were drinking a lot and had no issues.

I highly recommend Kacil island -- one of the nicest beaches I have ever seen.

haha thanks, no im not an alcoholic!!! i just enjoy a few relaxing beers in an evening overlooking a beach!!

hello all,

I'm heading that way in december with my girlfriend on our RTW trip does anyone know how long the mosson rains will last and whats the weather like in december? We are travelling down from thailand and need to fly out of singapore on 3rd Jan so has anyone got a good ideas for crimbo and new year?

Hi, i think the monsoons on the east coast last from Oct/Nov to Jan/Feb.

The monsoon usually peaks from end-Nov until December. All travel-related operators, e.g. diving, accomodation and boats, on the islands will be closed from October until February.

Head on to Langkawi during this time.

You will be dissapointed if you go to the East Coast Islands during that time. Langkawi or Pangkor will be the next option.
