Crap result for NZ, but it might bring them down to earth and realise that they need to plan for world cups better. Not peaking for the 3 years 11 months between world cups.

Yeah, sad to say but that's how it's been for New Zealand in recent World Cups. They've been great in the build-up, winning the Tri-Nations but not doing well in the biggie. I still think it was that awful grey strip they wore

South Africa beat Fiji 37-20, so... normal service resumed for that one, lol. Argentina v Scotland should be a good game too.

Is there any way we can all band together and get the IRB to get rid of that $#@*&%%$ three point penalty goal?

Well i'd agree on that one, Rugby League has a better points distribution thats makes it in the teams interest to score try's:
4 pts Try
2 pts Conversion or penalty
1pt Drop goal.

Perhaps we could keep the penalty at three points but allow a shot at goal ONLY from penalties awarded for deliberate foul play and NOT for the countless technical infringements as it is now. Vigourous use of the yellow card would be needed to control serial pests around the ruck and maul.

When I played Rugby , a try was worth only three points, the same as a penalty or field goal. And would you believe there was a time before that when a field goal was worth four points?

England & France are crap ? They're lucky ?

Comfort you as you can

Looks like its back in Engalnds hands... Not great Rugby to watch but its effective.

What do you mean England's hands? I thought they only used their boots!

Seriously, South Africa's forwards will not surrender the ruck and maul like Australia's forwards, and with the best number nine in the business, will do plenty with the ball they do win. England, even if they get past France, are no chance!

Hey Mikey.. I was looking at the stats of the kickers today. Patterson had a 100% record..

Compared to our Ronan...52%

Yep, Patterson is one hell of a kicker.
