I'm working on my itinerary and I'd like to go from Porto to Seville one day. I know it's a long ride.. but it will be a Sunday, and so hopefully it will be relaxing. Anyway - my question!! What is the quickest way to get from Porto to Seville?! Has anybody done this? Is driving a car quicker or should take a train down to Faro and then a bus over? Or a train down to Lisbon and then a bus over? I'll also need a bus from Seville to Evora. Can somebody please help me? I feel stumped! Help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
OK, it's me again.. the one who posted this in the first place. I'm thinking I'll take the train straight down to Faro from Porto and then a bus from Faro to Seville. I'll have about a couple hours to explore Faro. Is the bus station close to the train station? Are there places to explore close to either of these stations? Also, are there lockers in either of the two where we could keep our luggage while walking around?
Good idea. Faro is a cute little town and you’ll have no problem in spending 2 delightful hours.
The Bus Station is about 5-6 mins walk from the Train Station. The old part of town, shopping area and marina are all close to the Bus Station.
At the Bus Station there is an office that will look after your luggage for a v. small fee during working hours. Go for it!
Personaly I would rather take the train to Lisbon, and then take a flight to Sevilla. (Vueling, will be flying this route as of the 1st of december for 55 euros all in). Note it's not a daily flight, but they will fly on saturday, monday and wednesday. Or even fly to Madrid, and make a connection to Sevilla from there.
