I want to drive from Nevada USA to Costa Rica by RV. I want to know what requirements/documentation is necessary. I want to take my children on a tour through Central America and not by way of plane. What would anyone suggest? Thank you So much for you help!
I hitched in nicaragua with a couple driving an rv down from canada. they had war stories from every border--everyone wants a bribe--over paying (and underpaying once)--basically, have every piece of paper youll need --what that is--i dont know--bc if youre missing one--youll be "taxed" severely. I wouldnt suggest driving at night with just your family--we made a point of getting settled bf dusk. Oh, they had there car broken into also--but i guess that happens everywhere. Definetly have a spare tire--potholes are enormous and everywhere.
Ill say this, an rv is bliss compared to those buses down there.

Also, check with the AAA to see if they have tips. They should be able to get you started on the paper work you need.
