Sam/Peter/Sander/Eric

When PM another TP member would it be possible to PM a few at the same time with the same message ie if l was to PM Isadora but wanted to send the same message to Tway and Hien also - is that possible to do?

Or just copy and paste and send 3 separate messages!!

Cheers

Heather

Sorry Purdy - just copy/paste at this time. But, there is a reason... It aids in keeping the amount of PM spam to a minimum. If you were able to send a PM to multiple members, a spammer could spam a goodly number of members very quickly. The way it is now makes them do more work and keeps things cleaner. It's a pain in the arse when you have several to send, but... (I understand your pain. Try sending out the birthday list to 40+ members.)

Keep in mind, there may be something in the works that I am not aware of... I don't know... Last thing I heard, the above reason was it... I just work here... No one tells me anything... Just a janitor... A happy janitor with a martini... Care for one???

There you go - a nice Aussie shiraz to keep you company while you copy/paste to your little heart's content. ;)

If the worry is about spammers why don't we do it this way:

Make a special list for each user for people the user can mass-mail to.
The only way to get on this list if the other person has replied to a message from the user in the past. Presumably these would only be people the user is friends with.
Also let users remove people from the list if by accident a spammer gets added.

Im confused Q - you mean each individual TP member can set up their own mailing list of friends they have PM with in the past??

Too late for me now anyway - lve copied & pasted the detail!

You missed janitors cocktail time last night btw - that Aussie Shiraz was just delicious!

I think multiple recipients can be implemented for mutual friends -- friends who have added each other.

Sorry, I half-slipped into "design requirements speak". I do this sort of thing for a living everyday you see. Anyway, yes that's exectly what I mean.

The trick is how the computer can prevent spammers from calling everyone (or a huge number of people) a "friend" while letting legit users build mailing lists.

Hailing the Overlords... Come in Overlords... Anybody out there???

Hey S & P & Sander - is sending PMs to multiple members a twinkle in anyone's eye yet? Just curious...

Glad you enjoyed the Shiraz, Purdy. Maybe Q will show up next time when we have a nice chocolaty cabernet - 1994. Yum!

To be quite honest, I've been annoyed with this in the past too....

Everyone is rather busy with one project or another right now (hey, we just relaunched travelblogs.com by the way ), but I'm adding this to our list of projects with urgency major. Sound okay?
