Me and a mate are leaving for Australia in october so were trying to figure out whats best to go and see as we only have 5 weeks out there :(
Were landing in Melbourne then moving to Sydney flying to Uluru flying to Cairns then coming down along the east coast to Brisbane then home :(
Is there anywhere you would recommend going to? Also we saw some pics of Wine Glass Bay in Tasmania where you can look out across everything is there anywhere that anyone knows of on our route were we can do a bit of climbing to get some amazing views?

Cheers, Matt

If you're up for views and somewhere less common than Bondi, then i recommend the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains, Katoomba. I prefer the view in winter when the fog makes the rock formation seem like bottomless. Anyway you get to walk on the rock formation itself, and there possibly the world's steepest train track in Katoomba. Worth a look if you dont mind travelling 100km west of sydney. I think there is a train that goes there.

for amazing views i would recommend Wilson's Promontory national park in Victoria, near Melbourne. it's stunning and is a good walk to the viewpoint. you can do day trips from melbourne - i did one which combined phillip island penguin parade and wilson's prom in one day.
for a good view over the city of Melbourne, go to the top of the Rialto towers.

Melbourne is a pretty cool place with lotsa awesome day-trips handy, so if you can spend a bit of time there you won't regret it. For a fun way to end your trip check out the theme parks on the Gold Coast (there's 5 of them), I especially like Dreamworld and Movieworld for the freaky Superman Escape rollercoaster
