Every September 22nd is World Carfree day. Can you put away your car keys for a day?

Piece of cake....it's a Saturday, and we don't have to go anywhere.

Count us in (that's 2....do we get double credit?)

Hmmm, depends if you normally drive 2 cars.

Nope, just one. A fairly fuel efficient one. We've been getting 30-35 mpg (245,00 kpl) for the last 10 years now.

haha 250,000 kpl! Nice!

Can't do. I work on Saturdays so I have to drive or my boss will take the car away from me. Yes, it's his car.

We drive our car maybe once every two weeks. It's kind of a waste even having one, but it's really old and we used to share it with my wife's brother. We mainly use it for longer trips in the summer and sometimes for loading up groceries on the weekend - man, how old am I?! :)

It's not because we are overly righteous or anything, we just live in the middle of the city and have public transport all around, plus can walk to work.... that's not an option to most people so we're just very lucky

Beerman drives to work 5 days a week but we have no public transportation out here. I use the car on Thursdays to do the shopping. Poor thing has 178,000+ miles on it and still purrs like a kitten with a cold.

We knew they were going to make Saturday World Carfree Day so we purposefully have no plans but to stay home.

I also think we should get extra credit for only having one car for the past 10 years...

I plan to have a rugby induced hangover on Saturday so l should be at home sleeping it off in bed - does that count???

I caught a bus last Saturday - which was a first (at home) in a very long time - do l get any brownie points for that?
