I am planning on a trip starting in veitnam then travel through cambodia and finish in thailand then catch a plane home from there. I want to do all of this in 3 weeks!!! Is this possible or am i being unrealistic in wanting to spend a week in each country? how easy is it to travel through each country? I have no idea of distances. Can i get a bus or will i need to fly between them.?
you could probably do it in 3 weeks but you would be pretty limited in what you would be able to see and do and you would be very rushed. if i was you id pick one country and spend the full 3 weeks there! or maby 2 weeks in one and a week in cambodia as you can probably see all the main attractions in cambodia in a week!
I personally think you are being a tad unrealistic to be honest - lm spending 3.5 weeks in Vietnam alone to get some sort of feel for the country and a chance to see as much of the country as l can. To spend three weeks zooming the 3 countries would mean a very tight itinerary and you would get no time to relax!
At the very least cut the options down to 2 countries l would suggest maybe Vietnam & Cambodia.
i don't think this is realistic - i would spend 2.5 weeks in Vietnam and then a few days in Cambodia to see Angkor and Phnom penh. otherwise you will be too rushed and won't feel like you have seen anywhere properly. i spent 3.5 weeks in vietnam alone and still didn't have time to see everything i wanted to.
if you are flying into hanoi you could travel through vietnam using a combination of buses, trains and internal flights (vietnam airlines have some good deals). the journey across the border from from ho chi minh to phnom penh can be done by bus, as can PP to siem reap, then you could get a connecting flight from siem reap to wherever your return flight home is from.
3 weeks would be tight.... Assuming you start from Hanoi, you can pretty much bus all the way down to Saigon (which will take more than a week at a reasonable pace), and boat/bus through Chau Doc to PP. From Pp to Sr is a short bus ride, about half a day, and from Sr you can bus over to Thailand. The time consuming part of the journey would be from N Viet Nam down south.
I think u can actually cover these 3 countries w/o too much flying in 3 weeks, if u start off in Saigon and the head over to Cambodia after say like 5 days, spend a few days in PP and a few in SR, and then head to Thailand. Its feasible but i doubt itll be much fun rushing so much.....
