hey another post, sorry guys

im planning on spending about three months in the above countries, do u think its necesary to take malaria tabs for the whole time?

you should speak to a doctor for up to date malaria advice, but generally you would need to take tablets for laos, vietnam and cambodia and for a very small number of areas in thailand. i took doxycycline and it was fine.

Agree with bex- go to a travel clinic and you will receive your needed vaccinations and recommendations on antimalarials- and the answer is YES you should take them your entire trip...

we're taking doxy too.....and we're taking them for the entire time we're in thailand/vietnam/cambodia/malaysia. there's no risk in certain places along the way, but instead of going through all the hassle of starting and stopping (plus that fact that you need to continue taking doxy a few weeks after leaving the malaria are) its just far more simpler to take them the whole time!
