Hey guys,

At the random chance that someone out there might live in Simcoe, Ontario, I figured I'd put a post up here. I need some info on the town: standard of living (how much is a regular 1 bedroom or studio apt? and such), is there a public transport system there, how developed is it (ie: is there grocery shopping, a mall, movie theatre, etc, etc or do I have to go out of town), and just other standard info a person who may move there might need.

I checked on the net and there wasn't too much info (especially about a public transportation system). I got a full-time job offer to move there and I was wondering what the city is like first-hand. Need all the info before I can make a well-balanced decision.

Thanks in advance guys!

Cheers,
Katie ;)

I feel like I should be of more assistance, given that Simcoe is only a couple of hours from my house, but I must admit I am at a loss...

I know that Simcoe is pretty small (at least compared to Montreal). 61,000 people in the township.

http://www.relocate-canada.com/on/simcoe.htm says average home prices are $150,000. That's pretty cheap, so I can't imagine that rents would be too expensive. On http://www.apartments.ca/finder.asp?LOCID=647, rents run from $375 for a 1 bdrm to $625 for a 3 bdrm.

I hope this helps...

Greg

Greg,

Thanks for the info...that's mostly what I had found online anyways :) I decided not to take the job for a combo of financial and other reasons...but it looks like a cute little place.

Cheers,
Katie ;)
