Hi all,

I just returned from trips to Taipei and Beijing and now have a small collection photos of interestingly-translated English signs. If you have any of these, do send them to me :)

Thx!

There might be some amongst the collection of photos tagged with "signs" here on travellerspoint.

I dont have any photos, but I saw a good sign, in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. The English was perfect, but what it said made me laugh.

It was outside the WW2 Allies museum.

It said:
You may use our very clean Western style toilets, but only if you visit the museum.

I also have seen some terrible graffiti in cafe toilets, by travellers who were in a philosophical mood.
One time, I was very glad that nobody was waiting outside the toilet, when I came out. I would have had to explain why I was laughing in the toilet.

This post in our Travellerspoint blog contains 20 signs and was one of the most visited pages on Travellerspoint for quite some time - my personal favourite is "Do not gossip. Let him drive" - very male chauvinistic :)

LOL

Somebody told me that they saw one in a Japan hotel room that said,
Feel free to take advantage of the chambermaids.
