Hey all,

well as you all know by now im real new to this site great for information so far but im still a little bit confused hopefully you guys can help

Im finishing off school in May and want to travel somewhere Hot for the 3 months of summer that I have and also work. Now is this a common thing where someone would hire under these conditions? and also where would you recommend? Honestly all the help you all can provide would be awesome. Thanks :)

Hey Raj,

A lot depends on where you're from - if you can easily obtain a work visa (or in the case of Europeans in Europe, don't even need one). Since it'd be only for a three month period, it'd be a shame to use a "once in a lifetime" working holiday visa for this; better to save those for a time in your life when you can go for the full year...

Of course, if you stay within your own country, work visas and such completely cease to be a problem. Assuming you're from the USA (since you posted this in the North America forum), I'd say there should be a lot of opportunity for temporary work during the summer, and companies should be very used to hiring people for just a few months. (That you're from several states away, rather than from the same city, shouldn't matter at all.)

In all honesty I dont think I will get a chance to actually travel for a full year once all my schooling is done. I just want to go somewhere have a wicked time, somewhere where the parties are good, beautiful women, make some decent money and enjoy the sun. I hold a canadian passport and a british passport if that helps any.

British passport helps a lot. Pick anywhere in southern Europe. That should take care of the sun part. Partying isn't really my thing, so I can't advice more specific then that, but I'm sure someone will come along soon who can. (If not, try asking directly in the Europe forum.)

Hi Raj13, welcome to the site!

I would definitely recommend for you to go into Latin America!!

  • You can drive and save big on flights.:)
  • Even though it's at our door step It is a world apart from the States.
  • Don't worry you will be treated like a king/queen. the hospitality is unsurpassed!
  • You can find any thing you need in mexico (except Peanut Butter). There are walmarts and similar stores everywhere
  • Despite what you may have heard I have found it to be very safe in all regards. I have spent a great deal of time there and not had any problems.
  • A lot of people speak english and want to help you. Spanish is very easy to learn.
  • Central America ROCKS!
  • It is very cheap though out all these countries.
  • There is no limit to the experiences you can have.
  • The shopping is superb
  • The food is world renoun

I have been all over Europe and the world. I think Latin america is the best way to go! Cheap and Awesome! SO MUCH CULTURE!!
If I were you i would suggest that you head down from Loreado, TX Go around the capital (mexico city) to the city of Puebla. This is in my opinion the best city in mexico! High altitude makes the temp great! It has every thing you would ever want. Guadalajara is a great second best. Mazatlan has some great beaches but the heat can be unbearable check the weather b4 you go. If you feel super adventurous there is alway Central America. Still cheap and even more diverse. I recently drove from Arizona to Panama and back. It was no problem, despite what many people told me! Just use you hardwired in common sense!

Hope this helps you! If your interested in doing this post more q's here!

Thanks for the input Josh, that was some good info.

see, my main reason for getting away from here is once my school is out for the summer which is end of May, I want to go somewhere where I can also get some work to be able to bring some money back for when I go back to school. But, at the same time to be able to go see different places and party.

Do you think that this will happen? and where and what do i have a better chance at gettin work in and what kinda money?

AH HAH! Make money? I must have missed that! There are ways you could make money but that is not likely in these parts of the world unless you are really savy and know or know how to hand squeeze orange juice?! LOL . As Far as parties, Dis place rocks!! the music is blaring from so many clubs as you walk by!

Good luck homes

Partying as well as making money. Only in my dreams.
Worked once as a dishwasher (for 2 years!) - My boss allowed me to drink on the job. Actually saved some money as well. Other jobs, forget it. Partying had to take a back seat. Best of luck!
