I am going to head off for the crazy festive season that is christmas.
But i'm not sure where to go, i want somewhere with sun, lots to do and see but also time to relax, also want somewhere that has good diving and because it's only for 2 weeks or so i want somewhere that's pretty close.
Any suggestions ????
I know you said you wanted somewhere close but most places that are close would be cold at that time of year. So what about Thailand - its a good time of year to be there and is good diving on some of the Islands. There is loads to see and do but you could spend some time relaxing on the beaches too.
Bonaire,the DIVERS PARADISE, Netherland Antilles.
KLM direct to Bonaire on the flight to Ecuador or
KLM Amsterdam-Bonaire-Aruba-Amsterdam 2 x per week
Warm,also the water,excelent diving!
How about Canary Islands. I went to Tenerife for Christmas 2 years ago and it was pretty warm and lots to do, if you want to..
How about somewhere in the Caribbean? Beautiful weather, great diving, and not too far away from anywhere else you'd have to go to get out of the cold. Tobago is a paradise and not too expensive!
How about going to India.
Australia is definitely sunny at Christmas time. Apart from being quite a trip from Ireland, I think it ticks all your other boxes: great diving spots, sun sun sun, its a big country so there's lots to see no matter which area you choose to be in, and also because its so big there's plenty of chance to find a peaceful place to relax in too
If you want sun the closest place will be the Canary Islands. I dont particularly like it there but if you want a typical sun sex and sangria type of package then that is the place to go. Otherwise I would recommend you go further afield if you can afford it. You can fly anywhere really in 2 weeks. I am going to the Philippines next week for only 2 weeks. It's a very long way but I dont mind flying so it doesnt bother me. How about Morocco or Tunisia? They are quite close but warm. You can take a trip to the Sahara desert from there if it is not warm enough in the town you are staying in!! I think my choice would be India though. Not too far to fly, nice and warm and a totally different culture.
