When a Thumbnail is displayed on the Blog Entry and a reader clicks on it, is there any way to also show the Photo's descriptive information in the larger window that opens?
I've been spending a fair amount of time adding Titles and Descriptions to photo's, I'd like the regular blog readers to be able to see this without having to repeat it all in the blog. Another alternative would be to have it show up as a text box when a reader holds their mouse over the photo - whichever is easier would be fine with me.
If this isn't feasible, I'll start adding more info to the blog entries themselves, but being somewhat lazy, would prefer not to.
Thanks for your consideration.
Hmm, a little tricky due to the way we set it up. But I do see where you're coming from. Will have a poke around with it after lunch to see if it can be improved slightly at least.
Good news. I found a relatively easy tweak that enabled me to show the title and description of the photo when you enlarge it.
It's still not really the ideal way to handle photos.. I'm well aware of that. But at least for now, you will have some extra detail when using thumbnails to display photos.
Thank you! I will try to test features in the future before I just 'assume' how they work - I'll also try to start including more text with the photo's in the blog for those who don't bother to enlarge them.
I think your assumptions were fair though in this instance. It doesn't make much sense to have to fill out descriptions multiple times, in particular when the main reason for uploading the photo is to include it in a blog entry.
The rationale behind the current system is mainly that the code used can also be used to include photos from outside of Travellerspoint. But this is not a documented feature, so it really only serves to shoot us in the foot when it comes down to it! One other consideration is that multiple authors can submit content to a blog. If we automatically tied photos to a blog based on the blog owner, this would become problematic for that reason. Not to say that it shouldn't at least be an option though..
I'm always open to suggestions on how things *should* work. The more natural it feels, the better for everyone involved!

Funny you should mention this, I just 'documented' this a few days ago in this FAQ
Either way, I love the change. Hope my readers do as well.
