Hi, I have booked my flights with STA, fly into bangkok and gave myself 6 weeks to make it to singapore where i fly to australia.
Need advice on how to spend my time etc.
The one problem is, I fly into bangkok on the 18th jan and out of singapore on the 29th feb.
Although i wanted to attend the full moon party on ko phagnan on the 22nd feb (only just checked the date!)
That wud only leave 7 days to make it down from k.p to singapore, see everything i want to and catch my flight.
Is this realistic, or do u think I should shift my flight from singapore back by by a week?
You could leave Thailand, travel around Malaysia and come back to Koh Phangan for the full moon party .
Thanks flynn, I was thinking that, but then I would have to backtrack after the party to get to singapore for my flights!?
Is this not too much effort/time? (prob by train?)
Is there much to see in malaysia, how much time shud i dedicate?
Anybody help me with this?
I would shift your flight back a week (or more if you can), as there is loads to see in Malaysia, and Singapore is worth a stop too. In Malaysia I would recommend Taman Negara national park, the Perhantian islands (if you fancied some more time on the beach), the cameron highlands, Melaka and Kuala Lumpur. I spent a month in Malaysia and thought this was about right but if you are only going to have a short time I would suggest Taman Negara national park and then KL, then get the bus or train down to Singapore. Spend at least 2 days in singapore if you can.
Anybody else give me any advice on this?
A few things to add for you.
1, I've taken the boat and bus directly from Kho Phangon to Singapore about 2 months ago. It is suposed to take 24hrs from Surathani to Singapore, but actually took about 2 days with the night boat. It was a very comfortable trip save the time. It was only US$40
2, You can catch a 1.5 hr (maybe 2.5hr) flight from Kho Samui, the island right next to Kho Phangon to Singapore for pretty cheap, like US$100
3, Singapore is pretty boring. You can do enough of it in two or three days. I've been there twice. Actually, I just moved here. There is a phrase here among us that Singapore "is a good place to live, not so good to visit." It's expensive, and the nightlife is limited.
4, What ever you do, do not miss Kho Phangon and the full moon party. I have been there 5 times, I love it, and I'm trying to go back. Soon.
