So spill - everyone has those moments where you simply pray that the ground opens up and swallows you whole? Those moments when you think back about them and you still blush - even years afterwards?

So has anyone got any good stories?

ME well - l basically propositioned my boss (unintentionally) in front of a packed office!

I do a lot of programming of work for home heating installations - maybe having 15 teams on the go installing a job a day - 75 a week - ANYWAY. I manage the work and ensure that the teams have work and deal with problem issues. Each of the teams are colour coded. So Mark my boss and l were going over the work and he was asking me about work for the blue team. I was distracted by something else didnt hear right and in quite a loud voice said

Sorry Mark what was that you want a BLOW job - now l should have said Blue, simple slip of the tongue! But still v embarassing - the amount of slating l got about that one is unbelieveable (and l work in a predominantly male company!)

Ok lve shared my story with the group, help me feel better share your stories too!

I was at K Mart a few years ago, and I bought something or other and as the girl was putting it in a plastic bag I said, "no bra thanks". I meant no bag.

I felt pretty stupid, and to this day I don't know why I said it as I wasn't thinking about anything in particular.

I'm trying to picture me saying that to my boss!

Jesus, where to start with the embarrassing moments - they're have been MANY!

My most recent award-winning moment was in a hostel here in Ireland. I checked in late in the evening. There was general pandamonium in the place, with the owner running around with bedsheets and teapots, looking pretty stressed. A little boy was sitting on the floor of the sitting room watching TV and playing with his trains. Eventually, the owner plonked down on the sofa beside me, and said "Sorry, now we'll get you a room. It's been crazy here today. And I'm him to look after as well" nodding towards his little boy.

So, I said "Oh, were ye abandoned?" , merely inferring that maybe his wife had gone shopping for the day or something.

Dead silence for a few seconds, followed by:

"Well, actually, we were yeah. She's gone about 2 years now"

Embarassing. I can't remember what came out of my mouth next....

Few months back, when my friend and i were at the mall...
We were like discussing about girls that we saw earlier...
Well, I was walking in front and he was walking behind...
So i talked and was feeling quite weird when everyone were looking at me...
When i turned around and lookd, my friend was at a CD shop and it was like 50 meters away from where i stopped...
Meaning that i was walking and talking to myself and people were looking and smilling at me...

Alright - here it is.

Many many many years ago when I was still "Jack-the-ladding" it round the west end of Glasgow, I was in the Basement Bar on Byres Road. There was this rather hot young lady sitting at a table and I was perched at the bar. She and I kept making eyes at each other so I plucked up the courage and asked the bartender to get me a round of whatever they were drinking. I took the drinks over but at this point she had left the table (i assume for the ladies room) so I left the drinks with her pals and said something stupid like "These are for you and that gorgeous pal of yours". So, we kept making eyes at each other for a while, but then I looked over and, alas, she and her pals were gone. I was livid! I bought her a drnik and everything! Anyway, at this point the lovely Sara with whom I had . . . spent some time, appeared and we starting chatting. One thing led to another and we left arm and arm to get a taxi. And guess who was standing at the top of the stairs, obviously waiting for me? I had to walk past without making eye contact . . .
