Just come back from HK and used to live there.

Go to Stanley Market for souveniers

Go to the peak - definately at night - its absolutely incredible - you get the tram up to the top and there are restaurants up there and a viewing tower.

Get the star ferry across to kowloon to see the view of the hk skyline.

The Jumbo restaurant is amazing - expensive but worth it -its a floating restaurant that you have to get a boat to go to.

If you have time go to Lamma island and wander around - there are beaches and its very tranquil there with no cars and if you're adventurous they have a famous Pigeon Restaurant that is delicious.

Thats a few suggestions. Its a small place so very easy to get around and do a lot.

Hope this was helpful,

Nikki

Hi Sandra,

You can apply for a Chinese visa in Hong Kong. And, you can get your visa on the same day with an extra cost (if you need it quick). But do make sure you get there early - the queue can be pretty long.

All the information that you need can be found on this website. http://www.fmcoprc.gov.hk/eng/zgqz/bgfwxx/default.htm

To add on to Nikki's list, do go to the street markets in Kowloon. The Jade Market, Ladies Market, Goldfish Market, Tung Choi Market, Ladies Market, Bird Market & Flower Market... quite an interesting experience. Hope I didn't miss any of the many markets out! ;)

Apart from the markets, The Monastery of Ten Thousand Buddhas is also worth a visit. It's very different from the many temples you find in HK.

A trip to Lantau Island is enjoyable too. There's the Po Lin monastery with a huge buddha statue and nearby there's the quaint seaside village, Tai-O also known as Venice of HK (which I beg to differ!). Anyway, will let you decide for yourself!

Hope that helps!

Hello,

I think they had provided really cool places already. The Tsim Sha Tsui pier is a great place to visit at night, the view across the habour is fabulous. If you are coming in summer, don't miss the Lamma Island's beach. It's really nice there. If you like shopping, you can go to Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Causeway Bay... you can find everything there (esp. Mong Kok, from markets to shopping malls). I suggest you can go explore around Hong Kong, not just the tourist sites. Hong Kong is a pretty safe place and most of us know how to speak English, so enjoy your trip :)
