me and a mate are thinking of going to either a balkan or baltic country in March. we arent sure as to which area would be better as we are only going for a week unfotunately. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on which area/country would be better to visit for a week....
If it's March, i'd be inclined to say Balkan. The Baltic's are great, but at that time of year liable to be bitterly cold, whereas if you pick somewhere Balkan carefuly, you could get some reasonably decent weather. I also wouldn't try and do too much. Pick two or maybe three places (remembering travel time/ease) and plan to spend 2 or 3 days in each.
I suggest to visit one small Balkan state Croatia, it is very nice, cheap and friendly country
hope it helps !

Good advice from Gelli, though the inland Balkans may very well be bitterly cold too. Slovenia came into my mind: Ljubljana is a lovely small city that is not too cold and e.g. Piran on the Slovenian coast would be a nice alternative. It's certainly not cold there.
